Dental restorations:
- Larger fillings may fracture. In cases of certain positions and extents of tooth structure loss, a dental restoration such as a crown is required for safe long-term tooth preservation.
Root canal treatments using modern techniques:
- Multiple appointments are required, during which the pulp chamber is opened during trepanation, the dead tissue is removed using both mechanical and chemical methods, and at the following appointment the treatment usually continues with a medication change, then concludes with root filling and restoration of the crown portion.
